Advertisements now in 2019 and advertisements in 1972 in core part are the same thing I would say that the technology and the scope of the situation got bigger anot to mention that without advertisements our society will fall apart defenetlty this game was never as big and as intense as right now. In 1972 the technology was not really developed that much as right with for at least ~15 years internet is the king of the place Ads are everywhere on your clothes on social media literally everywhere another thing which Is strongly seized over ads and companies which creates them is using body image as a point to sell their product. But today the ideal body image the body stereotypes have an interesting twist because today we have celebrities which are paid money to maintain their looks and by doing this they are advertising a lot of products like Starbucks or Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line a lot of things but not only celebrities do that the same things happens with Blogers or youtubers or proclaimed instagram models lol those people sell looks they make you envy of them they make you and not like yourself because they all ideal and you’re not they make you buy more more useless shit to look better because the egoistic culture of looking good is as strong as every with the creation of social media. That’s a really profitable and smart psychological game that big companies play it is right really easy to distract people from the real problems of society from the real problems of this world if something happens war or something it is easy to distract people for example maybe Arianna Grande broke up with her boyfriend and she releases a new song about it and everyone talks and sings it and almost no one cares about what is happening. The thing that certainly hasn’t changed since the 1972 and I suppose will never change Ads is a good tool to make people more stupid to make them behave like barbarians for example Black Friday sales Ads are good manipulation tool it was like that and it will ever be like that.
